New York 000 is an ongoing project to produce the most comprehensive and beautiful visual record of the people in New York City. Embarking on a what we think is a truly historic photo-adventure, we plan on shooting for over a year in every neighborhood of every borough.

Though our idea to photograph the people of New York City is a simple one, we've found ourselves in groundbreaking territory. Never before has such a feat really been attempted and now the two of us are doing it without sacrificing an ounce of craft or aesthetics. Taking a fairly traditional approach to portraiture even while shooting on the street, we are committed to producing something of superior quality and unprecedented scale.

Treating everyone we photograph as someone special, we are endeavoring to capture the diverse faces, fashions and attitudes the comprise this great city. We think we've found a way to fuse all the spontaneity people expect of an urban peoplescape with a depth of character found in a fleeting glance. Combining all that with a love for New York and its people is what keeps us going.

In true Streetstudio
style, there is no location the two of us won’t go for this project. From Brighton Beach to Bed-Stuy, Flatbush to the Flatiron, the city’s neighborhoods provide us with a dizzying amount of material. Shooting a dozen times each month against our backdrops of New York dirt and Hudson River water, we intend to photograph thousands upon thousands of people well into the future.

While fine-art prints are available now, we hope to produce a series of books and an associated DVD that can give added life to our photographs. Look for us out there and be sure to pose. Also, check out smeour our press, take our survey and see more of Clay's independent Streetstudio endeavors.
